President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo
Once again Ghana has demonstrated her growing maturity in democratic governance. The smooth transfer of power from the Mahama Administration to President Akufo-Addo’s team is admirable. The new President has struck the right chords in terms of good governance and the needs of the times.
In a population where the majority of voters are within the age group of 18 to 35 one has to be responsive to their needs in respect of education and jobs to earn their votes. Such responsiveness also relieves the stress on parents and guardians and is welcome to them. That life is hard for everybody including traders and businessmen is obvious and the promises of President Akufo-Addo must have been appealing to many a voter.
We can all wish President Akufo-Addo well. Meanwhile the NDC is on course in delving into the causes of their worst performance to date to be followed hopefully by a reorganization that entrusts the future of the Party in capable and non-divisive hands.
